Basic Manners Classes

Basic Manners 101 is the perfect opportunity to start fresh with some basic skills and handling.  Along with learning better manners, your dog can improve its much needed social skills.  It’s never too late for dog and owner to learn, so don’t wait!

Skills taught – sit, automatic sit, down, wait, stay, recall, loose leash walking, simple games to aid in communication and training such as to “touch” and “finish”.  We also make time for questions at each class to help with problem areas at home.  Such problems often include potty training, puppy nipping, jumping, crate training, etc.

Dogs are required to have their current adult Distemper combo vaccinations, Bordetella, and Rabies.  Puppies must be at least 3 months old and have at least 2 consecutive Distemper combo vaccines, Bordetella and Rabies only if old enough.  For vaccines to be valid, they must have been administered by a veterinarian.

Supplies:  flat buckle collar (no spikes please), no choker or pinch collars please, 6 foot nylon (no chains or retractable leashes), many small, bite-size treats (choose a variety that your dog loves! Try to avoid crunchy bones), and a treat bag that makes treats easily accessible.  Other supplies may be requested after evaluation of attending dog.

Classes are held in our front lobby one night a week for five weeks with two instructors. Class is no more than one hour starting at 7 pm.  The fee is $115.  Space is limited to fewer than 10 dogs/puppies per class; this ensures plenty of one on one attention.  Please register at the front desk.  Classes must be paid in full to reserve your spot, so sign up today!

Front doors will be unlocked at approximately 5 minutes till 7.  The sign will say 'closed', but come on in!
